They take place at all Margaritas restaurants between 10am and 12pm.We offer 3 types of Field Trip Packages that feature guided restaurant tours, food demonstrations and even a DVD presentation of contemporary Mexico that highlights Mexican artisans, markets, street scenes and mariachis. A teacher study guide provides material to prepare students and follow-up activities for later classroom discussion.
All programs require a minimum of 25 students. State sales taxes are included in all prices.
Package 1- Enchilada Meal
$13 per student (ideal for 25-35 students)
This program, geared toward middle and high school students, begins with a DVD presentation showing scenes from our various trips to Mexico. We give students the chance to see present day Mexico, its people, its tradition and its art. The students are then taken on a tour of our restaurant to see a variety of folk art and decor. Participants will have an opportunity to see and touch examples of the artwork they viewed in the presentation allowing them to gain a greater appreciation of the culture. We then move to a food demonstrate where we make our fresh guacamole and salsa fresca by hand. The students see each ingredient and the step-by-step process in preparing these two wonderful Mexican dishes. Students are offered a sample of each to add to their Mexican-style meal that includes a fresh made enchilada (chicken, beef or cheese), rice and beans, soda and Mexican churros with chocolate dipping sauce.
We present a piece of authentic Mexican art to display in their classroom as a visual reminder of their trip to Margaritas and their Mexico adventure.
