This
was MMG's first Portland location. This Margaritas restaurant is located
on the bottom floor of a historic railroad and shipping building constructed
in the 1800's. This building features eye-catching brick arches and an impressive
granite construct and faces a shipping plaza across from a Greyhound Bus
Station. The restaurant is 7,176 square feet in size and was completely
renovated in the summer of 1997. It can accommodate 125 patrons in its dining
room, as well as an additional 100 in its lounge area.
With a population
of 250,000 people, Portland is Maine's largest city and a primary shopping
destination for the residents of the State of Maine. Nearby University
of Southern Maine, the Maine Medical Center and the Portland Sea Dogs baseball
stadium with their large customer bases, are both located only two blocks
away from the St. John Street Margaritas.
