Opened in 1999, this Margaritas, located
minutes from the campus of Keene
State
College,
has
become a favorite
spot in the Keene area. The building
itself
dates back to the early 1800's
and
is
one
of
the
oldest
remaining
buildings
in
the
town.
It
has been a restaurant for over one hundred years. The mother of Henry
David Thoreau was in fact born in this very building and rumor has it, she
still likes to roam around in the wee hours of the morning. This is a
great fun place with a two floor dining room that looks right onto the
main streets of Keene. The cafe-style sidewalk dining is a summertime favorite. The
lounge is huge and runs the entire length of the building. It is built
separately to the side and is the best place around to howl when the moon
is full. Margaritas are always the rage whether you are hanging at the
bar, laughing with friends in one of the jail cells, or playing pool on
one of our two tables. Keene Margaritas is a fun and festive place to be.
