Margaritas Field Trips

Field Trips to our culturally rich restaurants are a valuable educational experience for local students and their teachers. They take place at all Margaritas restaurants between 10am and 12pm. We offer 3 types of Field Trip Packages that feature guided restaurant tours, food demonstrations and even a DVD presentation of contemporary Mexico that highlights Mexican artisans, markets, street scenes and mariachis. A teacher study guide provides material to prepare students and follow-up activities for later classroom discussion.

Field Trip Packages

Package 1- $12 per student-Enchilada Meal (25-35 students-middle and high school)

This program, geared toward junior high and high school students, begins with a DVD presentation showing scenes from our various trips to Mexico. We give students the chance to see present day Mexico; its people, its tradition and its art. The students are then taken on a tour of the restaurant to see a variety of folk art and decor. Participants will have an opportunity to see and touch examples of the artwork they saw in the presentation, allowing them to gain a greater appreciation of the culture. Next we demonstrate how we make fresh guacamole and salsa fresca by hand. The students see each ingredient and the step-by-step process in preparing these two wonderful Mexican side dishes. Students are offered a sample of each to add to their Mexican-style meal that includes a fresh made enchilada (chicken, beef or cheese), rice and beans and fried ice cream dessert.

We present a piece of authentic Mexican art to display in their classroom as a visual reminder of their trip to Margaritas and their Mexico adventure.

Package 2- $11 per student-Taco Buffet (25-35 students-middle and high school)

This program, offers the same activities and piece of authentic art as Package 1. Instead of an enchilada meal, students are treated to an all you can eat Taco Buffet (chicken and beef), Mexican rice and beans and fried ice cream dessert.

Package 3- $10 per student-Taco Buffet (25-50 students-elementary, middle and high school)

This program does not include a DVD presentation and is geared more for larger groups of students from elementary, middle and high schools. The students are taken on a tour of the restaurant to see a variety of folk art and decor. Next we demonstrate how we make fresh guacamole and salsa fresca by hand. The students see each ingredient and the step-by-step process in preparing these two wonderful Mexican side dishes. Students are offered a sample of each to add to their Mexican-style meal that features an all you can eat Taco Buffet (chicken and beef), Mexican rice and beans and fried ice cream dessert.
